Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts continue their huge expansion in China with new hotel openings in Beijing and Guilin in 2010 and in Shanghai and Macau in 2011, opening up even further options in China’s key cities as well as helping to open up China’s emerging destinations for events.
China World Summit Wing will open in Beijing in the second quarter of 2010 in the CBD. The hotel will offer a luxurious sanctuary on the upper floors of Beijing’s newest landmark, the new 330-meter-tall China World Tower, soaring 81 floors above the China World Trade Center area. The hotel comprises of 278 guest rooms, averaging 65 square metres, which are among the most spacious in the city.
In Shanghai, the Kerry Centre Hotel will open in Puxi in 2011, as Shangri-La’s second property in the city, in addition to the Pudong Shangri-La. The 600 bedroom hotel is a 30 minute drive from Pudong International Airport and will feature a 6,000 square metre recreational mega sports club, including gym pool, tennis and badminton courts, a yoga studio, as well as outdoor areas for team building and exercise. Meeting and banqueting facilities will include a 2,400-square-metre grand ballroom and a 1,200-square-metre junior ballroom, which can be connected to create one space, with a large pre-function area.
Guilin is one of China’s emerging destinations for conferences and incentives. Steeped in natural beauty with stunning landscapes and rural experiences, Guilin is the next big thing in China for your groups.
The Shangri-La Hotel, Guilin will open in the first quarter of 2010 and will be the first international standard five star hotel in the city. Overlooking the picturesque banks of the legendary Li River, this classic Chinese-style hotel is located in the heart of Guilin’s most picturesque attractions. The hotel features the largest conference and meeting facilities and the largest guest rooms in the city, of which there are 449 in total.
