Nov 09 - Pacific World won its second “Best Destination Management Company” award this year, at the recent 2009 Sabah Tourism Awards, held on Saturday 21st November in Kota Kinabalu.
The award recognized Pacific World Destination East Borneo as the best DMC in 2009 for its positive contribution to growing Sabah’s reputation as a key global MICE destination. Pacific World Destination East’s Area Manager for Borneo and Kuala Lumpur, Aina Lai, was delighted to accept the award on behalf of Pacific World’s Borneo office, “We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award. I am very proud of my team and very pleased that their hard work has paid off. It’s their great teamwork that has made it possible.”
Earlier this year, the Pacific World DMC Network also accepted the award for “Best DMC in Asia”, as voted by CEI Magazine readers for the second year running.
Pacific World Destination East operates four offices throughout Malaysia, in Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and Kota Kinabalu, Borneo. In 2009, Pacific World Destination East celebrated its 20th year in operation. The Kota Kinabalu office opened in 1993 and its dedicated MICE team share 35 years of experience in operating events at Pacific World in Borneo.
The Pacific World network operates 19 offices in eight countries throughout Asia and in 2010, will celebrate 30 years of continued commitment to demonstrating the Art of Asian destination management.
The Sabah Tourism Awards was launched in 1997 and is held biennially, to honour outstanding individuals and organisations for their role and contribution to the State of Sabah and national tourism development.
